An author returns to his hometown of Salem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover that the residents have been attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot was to make vampires scary again. He wants to move away from the sexier, more romantic undead that have plagued pop culture for much of the last quarter century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight to The Vampire Diaries. The movie is set in the late 1970s, like the book. Mark’s Night Light is a Batman night light that uses the 1989 Batman logo. Correction: The story is set in 1975. The style of Mark’s Batman night light is similar to the 1989 style, but the 1974 Batman toys show that the same style was also used. in 1975. References Trog (1970). I think this movie could have used another 30-40 minutes to flesh things out. Too many rushed scenes to get to the next one. A more detailed story could have happened with the Guardian, which was a waste unlike the original which was much better and much scarier. I could have seen how he became Barlow’s servant. Back story about Barlow himself, the master, how he became who he is. Offer something different or add what the original or remake didn’t have that would set it apart, not saying it would be better than the original, but consider it a very worthy remake. I still enjoyed it, but it’s just something to think about for people who want to do remakes.
