Tale
A grieving therapist begins to tell his clients exactly what he thinks
Despite his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” share their most memorable moments as their characters in Season 1 and reveal who impressed Harrison Ford the most.
Goldstein eventually spoke to Ford and sold him the role
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the show, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and intended to cast people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least introduce him to Ford, thinking he would immediately decline, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been approached about the project, sparking interest from other big-name actors.

Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was still elated.. I’ve watched the first two episodes and I think they’re engaging.
I also respect the way it’s presented – he’s not doing what other therapists are supposed to do, and that’s pretty clear
Part of the reason is that I found there to be something real about the therapist who needs therapy and wants to break into his patients to solve their problems unexpectedly. He’s not in the kind of silly situations he’s been in on other shows like Loot, but he’s still early in the series and I’ll keep watching.
The show isn’t for everyone
That said, I like the depth of the characters, who don’t seem like caricatures; they’re people I’m interested in getting to know.
